Victorian D'Epargne Gold And Enamel Drop Earrings Early 20th Century The "G" features 0The Story From circa the 1860s 1870s, these antique earrings feel as fresh today as ever. Done in textured, rich 10 karat yellow gold, they are accented by black enamel at the top creating an eternal buckle design and at the bottom, a tri leaf design. This black enameling is called Taille d'epargn, meaning the "saving cut", and was popular from the 1850s 1880s. The metal was engraved and then filled with black enamel, giving them their striking look.
