It can be found from Vermont to Florida and from eastern Texas to the Great Plains

One of two species in the genus Quesada, it is the widest ranging cicada in the Western Hemisphere. This species was formally known as Tympanoterpes giga. The wings have been painted with gold liquid gilding and are not naturally golden color. This specimen is encased in a 6"x6" frame.
