Each relay has both normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) as well as the common available on three terminals. It has snubbers fitted between the Common and N O contacts. In addition to the relays, the tcp184 has 8 input channels which may be individually configured to be: Active low input with pull up (allows direct connection of volt free contacts).
